Our list of Electric Booklets is shown in the panel on this page. All content is derived from high quality textbooks published by Open Stax . Each booklet includes capabilities optimized for use a 'quick-study' guides:

  • All content is designed to be useful on both desktop and mobile devices
  • A 'single-step' feature allows students to selectively hide the steps of explanatory notes, allowing users to better focus on developing problem solving skills
  • Each problem can be used as a link to be shared through e-mail with other students, teachers, or mentors
  • All titles include the ability to search for videos which include relevant content

Electric Book works with content provided under the Creative Commons Attribution BY license to distribute streamlined versions of textbook review materials.  Initial products include post-secondary textbooks published by the OpenStax team at CNX.org. College algebra

These 'after-market' products are based on high-quality texts, and include a complete set of cross references connecting the Electric Booklet content with the original material.

Rather than simply producing YAPDF (Yet Another PDF) version of the original material, EBC re-formats the presentation to provide improved user experiences on mobile devices, adding features such as the ability to single-step through problem solutions, independently re-scale text and images, bookmark individual problems, and share content using social media.

The company considers Electric Booklets to be the ideal complementary product for the original material well suited for schools or tutoring companies to integrate with their programs, or individual students who find access to OpenStax content a cost-effective resource.
