Visitors to the Company’s Electric Booklet may choose to initiate a ‘session’ when they choose to view a booklet containing academic review materials. Sessions continue until the visitor closes his/her window, or until the system detects a prolonged period of inactivity. During such a session, visitors may enter search terms to access materials related to academic study materials hosted on its site, or access externally hosted audio and video.

  • Search terms for text search – terms entered to search ‘booklet’ content are used to access a search engine hosted by the Company to fetch references to pages served by Electric Book Company servers. Search terms may be aggregated and retained indefinitely to provide the company with statistical summaries of generic use patterns. Search terms attached to an individual session are not retained after the end of a visitor’s session, nor distributed to any third parties at any time.
  •  Search terms for ‘study suite’ search – Electric Book Company enters relationships with providers of videos which include academic content related to one of the Company’s booklets. Users are able to enter search terms which are applied against the transcripts of such videos stored in a search engine hosted by the Company to allow direct access to relevant video segments. Search terms may be aggregated and retained indefinitely to provide the Company with statistical summaries of generic use patterns. Search terms and results attached to an individual session are not retained after the end of a visitor’s session, nor distributed to any third parties at any time
  •  Search terms for YouTube searches – Users may enter search terms to find public videos hosted at youtube.com. The Company uses the YouTube search API to apply the entered terms to return videos made available by the Google_Service_YouTube service. Search terms may be aggregated and retained indefinitely to provide the Company with statistical summaries of generic use patterns. Search terms and results attached to an individual session are not retained after the end of a visitor’s session, nor distributed to any third parties at any time. Additional information may be found at the YouTube Terms of Service site.
