For years, web standards like MathML and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) have promised to make life easier for technical publishing, but only with the advent of HTML5 are those promises starting to bear fruit.

EBC makes extensive use of the latest standards that will be adhered to by all modern browsers. Where short-term limitations may exist, the Company uses tools provided by other like-minded companies such as Design Science's MathJax plug-in to provide solutions that support the widest possible markets.

In short, the technology family used by EBC provides the next generation of distance learners with the tools that enable not only reading and viewing,  but communicating and collaborating.

The Trivium Framework is a web application that can be served by a 'TFS' (Trivium Framework Server), or can be deployed behind the the corporate firewall as part of the project Intranet.

The application uses W3C standard browser technology to implement a mult-frame appllication that access all the web applications on the same domain ---- any XHTML standard web page that collects the digital assets of an organization in the same domain as the TFS can be 'message enabled' for community use.

The application itself uses cost-effective open source resources for deployment:

  • PHP server (Zend Framework)
  • MySQL database
  • Linux/Fedora/Centos server (preferred)
  • Apache web server
